Man of leisure...

No, I didn't get fired.

The first of our days off, and the plan is to just kick back.  Well, mostly.  I enjoy the reward of a big ol' breakfast at the Hungry Clam on a day off.  On the way there, we picked up the scooter tag: your scoot by a barber pole...

As far as I know, there is only one barbershop here; and I couldn't remember if they had a pole on the building.  (Joan cuts my hair.)  But, it is on the way to the Hungry Clam.  Got it!

Motorcycle only parking with the Clam up in the background...

Breakfast was satisfying.  Before heading to the grocery store, we swung by the marina parking to get the next "tag"...

None of those candy-ass single level stairs - go for something that makes your legs tired just looking at it.

On to the grocery store...

Back to the coach, for an afternoon of cat-walking, guitar playing, and patio lounging.

Two things:
1). Thems some right steep tall stairs!!! You probably take them two at a time, right?
2). What's that red thing you're wearing with your guitar? You know that yesterday was the first day of summer, right? (Not to mention Fathers Day and my Birthday)

I seriously can't remember seeing a barber pole in quite awhile. Guess I need to be more observant.

1 - Yep, those are steep. I'm lucky to be doing one at a time by mid-point. There is a bench about half way up. Everything is uphill from the water... people often ask, "What is the elevation here?" as they try to catch their breath... ummm, sealevel.

2 - That red thing is called a "sweatshirt." Misnomer, perhaps, because there was no sweating involved. The high today was around 67º... mostly sunny, but one still has to dress in layers if you're going to be outside. Comfortably cool is what I call it here most days. On the rare days it gets to 80º, people are melting. Summer in the San Juan Islands - WAY different from most of the rest of the country.

Happy Birthday, a day late!

I knew where the barbershop is here... just didn't know if there was a barber pole, until we could see it. The scooter tag game is kinda fun: someone posts a tag, you get a reason to ride somewhere to find it. If you get it posted first, you get to decide the next tag (with a photo). No prize, no glory - just for the fun of it. Some days, the tag will get posted multiple times, other times it can go for several days before someone gets it. The idea isn't to make it difficult or so unique that it is hard to find. Kinda like geocaching.
