Our time off, that is.
I got the word on the mechanic coming in: tomorrow morning; so I will be going in early to pick him up at the airport. I guess we should go enjoy this beautiful day.
Laundry this morning, running a few errands. I picked up the "scooter tag" while we were out riding...
Your scooter by a current or former military base, installation, or facility. This is English Camp, home of the British soldiers and navy during the Pig War 1859 - 1872 (discussed a while back when I posted a photo of American Camp (our side during that same non-skirmish).
And, the new tag...
Your scooter on a Scenic Byway or Highway. Should be easy enough - it is where scooter pilots and motorcyclists like to ride, anyway.
No destination, but if we wind up over by Roche Harbor, we'll have a late lunch there. Joan said, "Lead the way!"
OK...
When I'm leading, I can shoot over my shoulder...
It isn't a perfect system...
Oops. Almost got her completely in there.
We really enjoy the roads and the views...
Parked at Roche...
And a nice view while we have lunch out on the deck...
Heading back home, we zipped by the alpaca ranch...
You have to look back in the shade. They only get sheered once a year... and they are looking a bit scrawny right after their haircuts. ;-)
Enjoying more riding...
Back home, I took the "jungle cat" for a walk...
She has taken to laying out under the tree that is out our door; the birds in the tree make a lot of noise... Izzy seems to find that entertaining.
That's it for days off this week - back to work for us.

ANOTHER day off??? I need to talk to your boss and see if he/she has any openings!!! 95 and humid today..... If only my two daughters and two new granddaughters didn't live here.....
Why does a Mechanic need to be flown in?
I'm just wondering..
Yes-- Izzy is very cute.. Always enjoy her Pictures and your Blog..
Mark - Joan and I negotiated our contracts for three days per week off, together. Stuff comes up, so it doesn't always work out that way... a goal to shoot for, though.
HRB - The boatyard we use is on the mainland. If the mechanic comes by ferry, it takes hours, since they would have to drive from where they are located to the Anacortes ferry terminal, then get in line for the ferry, then the hour and 10 minute ferry trip. He can get on a plane and be here in 20 minutes.
We are 22 miles by ferry to the mainland. There is no facility on this island with a travel lift that can handle our size boats, so we have a good working relationship with this service facility.
