Special Weather Statement...

That's what I woke up to this morning.

The gist of the statement is: it is going to be hot and dry this weekend (78º and 77º).  It has been hot and dry here (perspective), so there is a potential fire danger.

The high today here is forecast to be 74º... the low at home last night was warmer than that.

Here's a look at the next 10 days...

Upper 70s and sunny feels pretty warm in Friday Harbor.  It feels much cooler out on the water.  This time of year we see guests in shorts and t-shirts, even though our front counter staff recommends they bring layers.  We keep blankets on the boats, just for that reason.

54º this morning, and we have the heat on.

Better get that a/c cranked up with 81 on the way! You may even have to get some lighter blankets on the boats! If it gets any higher you "might" be able to leave the heat off for a night. Livin on the edge up there Jim....

I'll have you know that the a/c actually came on for a few minutes before I left for work early this afternoon.

I have an early supply run (taking guides/supplies to another island) tomorrow - have to leave for the boat in Roche at 6:00 am - it will be a downright chilly scooter run. Layers.

I layer too Jim. Underwear then pants. Socks then shoes (only because they prefer I don't go barefoot at the office). Well, nothing under the shirt, but nobody's perfect.... Sweatshirts, jackets, coats, won't see the light of day for another 3-5 months. You do live the life up there!!!
