The Lighted Boat Parade was canceled a few weeks ago (was supposed to happen on Dec. 2nd); the Chamber news release said "We canceled it so we can work on how to make it better."
Well, that was bullshit.
The Lighted Christmas Parade on South Padre Island (scheduled for last Friday evening) was canceled due to weather. For this part of the country, it was cold, windy, and drizzly. That one was a smart call.
Tonight was the Lighted Golf Cart Parade on our island. The weather was perfect: 72ยบ and very light wind as the golf carts whizzed by...
I don't think it was as big (as many carts) as it has been in the past, but the carts that were in it were looking good! Judging from the people on the carts, there was plenty of "Christmas cheer" at the cocktail party before the parade. ;-)
