Rosedale...

We left Bobcaygeon, heading for the lock at Rosedale. We were told it is "rural, quiet, peaceful." They didn't lie. The cruise there was again gorgeous. After being in the grubby water in the New York Canal System, it is refreshing to be in crisp, clear water. You can see to the bottom in 12 feet of water; it doesn't leave a scum ring on the boat.

At Rosedale, we saw some people IN the water... jumping, swimming, and cleaning up. Yep, jump in, climb out, lather up, and jump in again. Not for us - that water was 67ยบ! I prefer my clean-up warm.

Along the way, we cruised through Fenelon Falls. Yes, there is a falls...

And an impressively tall lock (looking down on Wild Blue from the lock)...

Just before the falls, we cruised through an area with lovely homes along the river and the canal. The canal had been blasted out of the limestone...

We pulled onto the wall at Rosedale about noon. Beautiful place; peaceful and quiet.
While the lock walls were quiet, the lock itself had plenty of traffic during the day...
Joan made us a nice supper, we let Izzy get some time out in the grass, I walked to the other side of the lock to visit with our new friends, Bill and Kathy. It was a cool night - comfortable for sleeping.

Glad you posted your blog site on c-brats - look forward to following your adventures via blogger. The only requirement that I have is that you cruise all winter so that I have something to do/read besides shoveling snow.

Next year I'm participating in the IronMan Lake Placid and have plans to take the CD22 with us and cruise the Erie Canal before/after the IronMan. Might have some questions regarding the Erie Canal as we get closer.

Have enjoyed following your adventures. Have a nice day - which is pretty easy on the Trent-Severn.

Hi Robert,

We certainly enjoyed our time on the New York Canal System - the cruising is easy. I wasn't sure what to expect in the Trent-Severn, but it is spectacularly beautiful. Again, thanks for what you posted about it; it helped with our planning.

Regarding winter: we'll likely be back in the Tropical Tip where we can boat year 'round.

Best wishes,
Jim
