A bit of home...

We awoke to another beautiful morning.  The weather weasels predicted 41º last night - it got down to 61º... yeah, we're good with that.

A fine breakfast, clean up, then time to shove off.  It was a delicate balance between the rocks, but we made it out without any new scratches.  Joan rinsed the sand off the anchors and step ladder as we backed out...

We headed southeast, with a plan to meet up with Herb and Wilma in Warm Creek Bay.  An easy run, plenty of pretty scenery...

We made our way into the bay, found a spot that looked decent, and beached Wild Blue.  Getting back towards Wahweap and Page, there are a lot more boats in this area.  While waiting for Herb and Wilma, we watched boats go in circles... fast... dragging people on floating stuff behind them.  We didn't see any of that further up the lake.

Then, a call on the radio from Willie's Tug.  We told them where to look for us and let them know we had them in sight with the binoculars.  They chugged on towards us...

They decided to anchor off the beach a bit instead of beaching their boat; I can understand that, with that taller bow (and no step ladder).  We waited onshore while they got the dinghy ready...

After hugs and "Whatcha been doing?" discussions, we started getting ready for happy hour on the beach.  Jake ran in the water then rolled in the sand... over and over...

He knows we like him... but, he couldn't understand why we shied away went he came running, shaking off water and sand!  When Herb went back to their tug, Jake got to go back to their boat...

Then, back to some serious happy hour libations on the beach (Herb almost made it to the beach with his drink (shaken, not stirred)...

When the sun went down, it cooled off fast.  Wilma said, "I'm freezing - time to go home, Herb."  More hugs, then we shoved them off in their dinghy...

We gathered up our stuff and headed for Wild Blue just before darkness set in...

I don't think we'll see temps in the 40s (like the weather weasels are predicting again), but it sure feels cooler than last night.

Always nice to see our friends from home... we'll part company in the morning, but will see them in another 1,500 miles or so.
