Moving Day and the "C" word...

The rental agent got our e-mail from the middle of the night... yep, another "overheat" situation with the electricity.  Even though I have her cell number, I didn't call - that would be rude for all of us to be awake in the middle of the night.

Fortunately, the Surge Guard did what it was supposed to do, again.  The rental agent could not have been more gracious.  There is a "no refund" policy, but she offered us our money back for the remainder of the month.  That wouldn't be too helpful... we did call around early this morning - finding a nice RV site this time of year wasn't panning out.

Carol (the agent) offered to put us on another site... the only thing she has available, and that is only for the next 4 nights.  Yes, this RV is much easier to set up than the 5th wheel, but it is a LOT of work moving when you have been in the same site for over a month.  It takes the same amount of tear down and set up whether you are moving 500 miles or 6 blocks.

This new site is a bit smaller, but a nicer layout...

This site is mostly under cover - nice shade.  We will be able to open the windshield cover in this site.  Best thing about it: there is an actual 30amp connection at the power pedestal.  There is a bit more road noise at this site - it backs up to a concrete block wall (I assume to keep the marauding hordes out) that is along a fairly main drag (we ride that direction regularly with the scoots).  The site we were on was about in the middle of the resort, and very quiet.  There is probably a perfect site in this resort... you can be damn sure it isn't available for rent.

Not sure where we're going after the next 4 nights, but we won't get too moved in here.

Plenty of room to put the truck in front of the RV...

Our cargo trailer is in storage.  That means, besides all the tear down and set up, we had 5 vehicles to move to the new site.  (RV, truck, car, 2 scoots)  It took a few trips.  About a mile, with all the winding streets.

While moving the motorhome (the first of our trips), there were a group of people standing by the pickle-ball courts as we went by.  I heard one guy use the "C" word: "Hey, that thing is really cute."  (There are a lot of big coaches in this resort; we are one of the smaller ones.)

I heard "cute" the entire time we owned the C-Dory.  I would generally counter with, "We think of it as a manly boat."

We hear "cute" every time we go out with the scooters.  You would think by the time a guy has been on this earth all these years, there is not much about him that is cute.  Might as well have cute stuff.

Our daughter is recuperating from surgery to improve her sinus issues.  It hurts to see your kid hurting; I wish there was more we could do.  But, she has been a trooper and is improving daily.  She gets that toughness from her Mother... I would be crying like a little girl.  Dan is taking good care of her.

No photos.  No one wants a keepsake of this situation.  But, we will be looking forward to better breathing and big smiles from her soon.

When/where are you heading next? Going to start getting HOT in about 6 weeks max. And the tropical tip won't be much better......

HRB - we came here with the 5th wheel, with Big Red doing the towing. Yes, we will be driving separate to get the truck home.

Mark - We are here for a while, yet, will be heading to the Tropical Tip next month, check out the house, then find somewhere cooler. South Texas has had a cooler than usual winter... good time to be in Arizona.
