Well, we know the Surge Guard works...

We came home after checking on Steph this evening... no power in the RV.

My first thought was to check the compartment where we had a problem - no burned stuff.  Then to the power pedestal, and the Surge Guard was reading "overheat at the plug" and had shut off the power.  It did just what it was supposed to do.  It also confirmed that there IS a problem with the power at this site, in spite of getting an OK from an electrician.

Not sure what we are going to do regarding staying here... we sure don't want a repeat of frying something on the new RV.  I unplugged the Surge Guard, which resets it.  It goes through a 128 second delay while it checks the power (voltage, mis-wired, bad ground, etc)... everything checked out and it let power turn on to the coach again.  I am guessing there is some kind of irratic, occasional surge.

Doesn't make us feel any better, though; and it's Saturday night.  We'll talk to the rental agent again.

And sleep with one eye open.

Stab a outlet with a Multimeter-- If you have one with you.. Then keep an Eye on it for awhile-- That should tell a story about your power supply at the RV Park..

You Know.. Fluctuations-- Voltage wise..
It should be a steady 110 between 120-- I'm sure you know this already..
You have been a boat owner..

I have seen some bad Power supplies on Transient Docks!!
