It has been a while...
Talking about some scooting about just for the fun of it.
We took care of chores yesterday, with the thought of playing today. A trip to Orcas Island was up for discussion, but after having a leisurely breakfast out, we decided local riding was fine. The weather weasels were predicting (as of this morning) a perfectly sunny day, with a high of 78º... a great day to out on the scoots.
We drove some roads in the opposite direction - the perspective is completely different...
A sliver of water visible between the trees...
One street sign caught my eye...
It's for sale. Looking at the details, it is going for $1.275 million. Water view. Plenty of land. Way over my budget, and as much as we love this area, I wouldn't want to own here... but, this place is actually well priced considering other island properties...
I am sure it is a fabulous view.
On with the ride...
That is one of the longest stretches of straight road on the island; not level, but straight. We stopped to check out the view to the west. Hazy looking into the Strait of Juan de Fuca...
Looking across Haro Strait, with Vancouver Island in the distance...
More riding...
I stopped at a pull-out ahead of Joan and got this shot as she passed by below; check out the kayaks on the water in the background...
That may be my favorite shot of the day. Not done, yet...
The section is densely forested...
And hills...
Some fine scootin' road...
Notice: by the end of the ride, the sky is getting gray. Checking weather along the way, there is now a 40 to 50% chance of rain for mid-afternoon. That was a quick change.
Back "home" (home is where you park it), some kick-back time...
Little Isabella is enjoying the leash time...
She looks like a large-bottomed girl from this angle - it is those "furry chaps"... that is an 8 pound cat under all that fur.
