Yuck...

Looking outside first thing this morning...

The guys that do the yardwork in our village were out there in that nasty cold, picking up blown down palm tree branches.  Wearing winter coats and gloves.

Yep, it's fugly out there.  Temp in the mid-40s, wind out of the north at about a million miles per hour, rain blowing sideways.  Other than that, it's swell.  Speaking of swells, we went out for our Thursday lunch at Russo's on the island... had to drive over the causeway to get there.  Did I mention: fugly?

Miserable outside, but lunch was worth it.  Tasty!  They forgot the pepperoni on my pizza (truly no big deal), so they sent us home with a free dessert to make up for it.

Coming back across the causeway...

The water is about as ugly as I recall seeing it.  It is blowing like stink.  Besides the whitecaps from the long north fetch, the color of the water looks like someone poured coffee into pea soup.

Not long after we got home, the doorbell rang - not strolling carolers (nobody wants to be out in this crap), but the UPS driver is getting paid for it.  One more piece of equipment to use for recording...

Compact electronic drums.  Plugged into the digital recorder, they sound surprisingly close to a full set of drums.  Without the volume of real drums.  Izzy came into the music room while I was setting up and dialing in the sound...

You know there is very little "pounding" sound in the room when Izzy is right there in front of it.

I had a full set of drums back in the early 80s; this is very different.  There is going to be a learning curve.

---------------

Too late in the day to start recording from scratch, so I added some drums to tracks I've already recorded - not so easy for me to drop that in after the fact, but here it is...
