Working with the Gravity Cruiser kids in Steph's class again today. A look around...
They are still in the initial building stage. Some have been able to run a first test to see if the car will roll. Let's just say it's a work in process. As usual, we don't tell them how to build the cars, but ask questions so they will consider options. The biggest issue seems to be the fear of making a mistake... inaction is a mistake, too. ;-)
Things that most adults take for granted (like: how gravity works, how a lever works, the effect drag has on a moving object, etc) are some of the things they will learn in this project. Along with how to work as and within a team, testing and evaluation, and how competition works in "the real world."
