Home again...

For now.

It is a 5 to 6 hour drive from San Antonio to our place in the Tropical Tip.  Of course, the wind was right on the nose all the way, about 15 mph or so.  Overcast to start the day, but hazy sunshine by the time we were south of Corpus Christi.  The last leg driving separate.

There were wildflowers along our route, from west of San Antonio to the Tropical Tip...

Yes, there were Bluebells, along with these pink flowers, yellow ones, etc.  Plenty of lush green...

And the "Welcome Home" I always look for: the palm trees along the expressway...

Before heading home, we stopped at our storage unit (inland, away from the salt air).  We unloaded some things from the cargo trailer...

Put the tanneau cover back on Big Red (in the storage unit, out of the sun), then swapped around and put the motorhome in...

The positioned the truck and trailer just outside the storage unit to unload the motorhome...

Not too much unloading (other than all the excess stuff from the HitchHiker) - we don't plan to be around here long before we head out again.

38 miles from the storage unit to our house.  We parked the truck and trailer, went inside... and discovered that the air conditioner wasn't working (again); we replace it a year and a half ago, and it has leaked out the refrigerant several times since then.  I called the a/c repair guy... sounded as sweaty as I could (and it didn't take much acting)... and waited for him to sigh and say, "I'll be out this evening."

I am very grateful - it would be miserable trying to get any sleep in this humidity.

We went to work unloading the truck and trailer.  Mostly food, toiletries, and personal stuff... but it seemed to go on and on.

Dave, the repair guy, showed up around 6:00, put some refrigerant in the a/c, and said, "I'll be back tomorrow to see if I can find where it is leaking."  I know what I'll be doing tomorrow.  On the bright side, it won't have to be sweating like a farm animal.  ;-)

A quick run to the store, and some views from the bridge to our island...

That is what brings us back here; the water was a pretty turquoise/green.  We'll take some time to check things out in the house, go out and clean up the motorhome, repack, and hit the road again.  I may get some paddleboarding or kayaking in, too.  ;-)
