Rolling...

We were ready to go.  Cleaned up, closed down the house, hooked up the cargo trailer, and headed for the storage unit.  Swapped some stuff from the truck to the motorhome, hooked the trailer to the motorhome, put the truck away.  OK, now we are ready to go.

The humidity was heavy this morning.  Leaving the house...

I felt like I needed to clean my eyeballs - not quite a fog, but you could feel the water in the air.

On the Expressway heading north...

Yep, gray.  Those aren't water drops on the windshield - slow bugs.  Most of them just splattered when they hit... a few felt like hitting marbles - really glad to not be at highway speed on the bike right now.

Not a lot of northbound traffic today; I'm guessing the winter Texans moved out before this.  No line at the Sarita Check Point (Border Patrol).  At one point, Mother Nature thought about raining on us, but obviously figured it would be messier to just spit a bit... not enough moisture to run the windshield wiper, which would have been an awful mess with the greasy bug carcasses.

Still trying to time the weather, we stopped for lunch, then at a small grocery store to get some fresh fruit...

Parking lots are less of a concern with this rig - we are 25' shorter than the truck/5th wheel/cargo trailer.

The Aspect has an "infotainment center" in the dash: satellite radio, GPS navigation (RV specific), and the camera monitor for the rear and side cameras.  We also have our Garmin GPS with us...

Joan had a maps app pulled up on her 4... "That makes 3 things telling you how to drive."

Ummm... I was thinking: 4.  ;-)  No way we were going to get lost.  Well, having driving this stretch of road a bunch of times, that wasn't going to be a problem, anyway.  I like to have the moving map up when I'm driving.

Our plan is to enjoy some roads besides the Interstates this trip.  Looking off to the side, the fields and flat-lands around here are saturated; standing water everywhere.  And, more rain in the forecast.

A while back, Steph asked us if we had ever seen an armadillo in our travels (she hasn't)... "Well,  usually they are road-kill, but sure."  Today was a 4-armadillo day.

We are down for the night in an RV park that belongs to Passport America.  We picked this one because they have concrete pads...

You don't track mud or wet grass in.  Yeah, I like concrete pads.  Plenty of trees here... we fit under them with no issue... and they have good cable TV, so no concern about finding an opening in the trees for the satellite TV.

It has been about 2 1/2 weeks since we arrived home from Arizona.  Enough for me to want to sanitize our fresh water tanks and lines after we pulled in.

We'll check weather in the morning, and decide whether to press on or stay put.  I like that schedule.

Last trip through OK with the boat, we stopped at an RV park in Thackerville... thunderstorm blew through that rocked the boat like 5 footers in a narrow waterway! May have to save Oklahoma for the good season... when is that?? ;-)
