Grass time...

No, I am not talking about legalized marijuana.  Nor non-legal marijuana.  I am talking about what makes Rufus the house lion happy: getting to spend some time each day out in the grass.

The weather weasels are calling for rain today - to the point where there are flash flood watches around the area.  We had a few sprinkles during the night last night, but nothing major.  When I was ready for a walk this morning, it would start sprinkling.  After about 3 starts and stops with the sprinkles, I went for my walk... yep, got sprinkled on.

The threat of rain kept us off the scoots today.  When we took the car into town for lunch, we did see some motorcycles heading northward (towards Sturgis), most looking like they were packed to be here for a while.  And most of the riders and passengers wearing coats and/or raingear.

The rigs around us in the RV resort had moved on, and the next batch is moving in; looks like people here for the Ralley.  Still, the traffic seems lighter than last year at this time.

When we got home after lunch, Rufus was ready for some leash time; Joan put his harness on him and he trotted out to go lay in the grass...

And we have plenty of grass for him to explore.  The RV sites here at Hart Ranch are spaced further apart than most RV parks and a nice wide grassy area between the rigs parked back to back...

I took the furry boy for a walk, but he was more interested in laying in the grass than walking...

The overcast sky made for some night lighting on his handsome face...

For Rally news: it "officially" starts tomorrow and runs through August 11th.  This morning on the local news, they showed some footage from the Harley dealer in Rapid City: 25 miles from Sturgis and it is essentially a rally in itself - over 100 vendors and they are set up and ready for business as the bikers come rolling in.

I would imagine they will have Main Street blocked off for motorcycles only by tonight.  Other towns in the area are blocking off parts of their main drag or downtown areas for motorcycle only parking (Rapid City and Hill City).

More threat of thunderstorms tonight and tomorrow, with warm and sunny predicted for the weekend.
