Clear!

Joan updated her CPR and First Aid certifications today. I sat in with her for the refresher, even though my cards are current. All part of gearing up for our summer "gig."

A hangnail?? Hook 'em up to the AED! Zap!

Nah, just kidding. ;-)

Jim: Are you two going back to Colter or are you headed in a different direction. Have you ever seen many sailboats launch out of Colter? Was thinking of taking the Catalina 18 (wing keel) up there for some sailing and then some flyfishing on the Snake. Comments??

Hi Keith,

We are heading to the PNW for the summer. I know we'll miss the people and the beautiful scenery at Colter Bay. Yes, there are sailboats that launch from the ramp at Colter Bay. As long as there is decent water in the lake, the ramp at Colter Bay is good. If the water level is low, you can try Leek's Marina (just a mile up the road from the turn to Colter Bay). We have sailed on Jackson Lake - spectacularly beautiful, but the winds can be fluky coming through those mountains and valleys. Colter Bay has 6 transient slips, there are generally mooring balls available at Leeks (no slips). Some interesting and protected coves to anchor in, plan for a rocky bottom. You will need a park permit and a WY invasive species sticker for your boat to sail on Jackson Lake. Hope that helps.

Best wishes,
Jim
