Severe weather...
Of course; I washed the truck, the cargo trailer, and the boat this afternoon. There have been severe weather warnings west and north of us most of the day. Now, there is a tornado WARNING about 20 miles northwest of us... and, it's moving southeast. Lots of lightning, heavy rain, hail, and the sighted tornado. All the local TV stations are on high alert, with their weather people getting all the air time.
It's pretty much in the area of where our 5th wheel is stored. Sigh. I guess we'll be making a trip that way tomorrow.
Tornados are a rarity around here. No one has a basement.

On edit...
Well, that was fugly. The first band passed over us... yeah, I said, "band;" looking at the sky, it looks like the bands of an oncoming hurricane. We were ready: had Izzy's carrier so we could keep her contained, and decided the bathtub would be the go-to place if things turned really nasty. It didn't come to that. But, the sky went black, the wind howled, thunder and lightning galore, and impressive pounding, driving rain. I haven't heard locally, yet, but the town nearest us received over 4 inches of rain in less than a half hour! The rain gutters couldn't contain it, the rain was coming down so hard. I looked over the deck to check on the boat, and the cockpit scuppers couldn't keep up, either - water was pooling in the cockpit.
On the bright side: no tornado in our area.
The weather reporting was pretty accurate, with the worst of the weather coming over us within 5 minutes of when the local TV said it would hit. Radar predictions are showing that we will see more of the same, coming in bands, through the night. Reports of local flooding, but that will likely run off.
Still hearing thunder, but the sky is lighter and the wind is down. Joan called the lighter sky "a sucker hole" (from our flying days)... looking to the west, I think she's right.
Here it comes...
That image above was about 2 hours before sunset. And then the rain hit...
Look at the upper left corner, and you can see the rain overflowing the gutters.
Whew!
