It's been months since I've been able to watch the sun come up from the boat. Back into the swing of things this morning. Before the sun came up, the first rays of light in the sky...
Look between the bow rails, and you can see the lights on the highrises on South Padre. The bright you see in the sky was the result of the metering in the camera; it was still pretty dark.
A layer of clouds at the horizon meant it wasn't going to be a typical sunrise...
Look in the lower center of that image, and you can see where the sun was barely showing through the clouds. That only lasted a few seconds.
The sun above the horizon, but still behind the clouds - great glow to the sky...
Then, the sun peeks over the clouds...
Turning towards the jetties, the fishermen were silhouetted in the early light...
A great time to be out there: 70ยบ and watching the world wake up. A few minutes later, and the sun was fully up...
Nice way to start the day.
