Into the desert...

No, we're not off-roading.  Today, we decided to ride nearby and visit the community of Verado.

Before heading out, little Izzy got some leash time...

I've never named my bikes.  Probably won't.  But, parked next to Big Red, a name comes easy...

We avoided the Interestate, rode north to Indian School Road, then came in to Verado the back way.  Verado is a planned community.  Back in the real estate heyday, you had to put your name in for a lottery in order to get the opportunity to buy a lot here.  Unlike most of the planned communities in the West Valley, Verado is lush with greenery...

Nice homes offered by a handful of builders, definitely upscale.  A nice looking Verado High School campus; same with an elementary school.  A small town square with a few retail businesses, a grocery store, a CVS Pharmacy, and a pizza place.  Self-contained in a small way.  There were nice bike/walking paths through the development; people walking dogs and pushing baby strollers.  It looked like an advertisement.  ;-)

It's not far to Buckeye for a Super Wal-Mart, a Lowes, and other shopping... but a dramatic change from one community to the other.

Joan said she found a couple motorcycle accessory places west of Buckeye.  I had my doubts.  I've ridden out here with my other motorcycle in years past... there ain't much.  Heading west from Buckeye... yep, plenty of nuthin'.  We through in the towel for that search and drove back to Buckeye for some lunch.

There is a big motorcycle shop on Litchfield (east of where we stay), and pleasant urban riding along the way.  We went back through Verado and east on Indian School.  They were giving demo rides on Can-Ams when we got to the motorcycle shop...

These are a trike of sorts - interesting, but not the fun and ease of these little scooters.  But, if you were going to do some cross-country touring, this would be an alternative to a Harley or a Goldwing.  Or, you could buy a fleet of these Honda scooters. ;-)

A warm one today - topping 90º.

I think we got all the way up to 32° today, My little spacer had to work hard to keep the C-Dory warm.

Hi Bill,

Not to belabor a point, but you did leave Florida to go back to the frozen northland, right? ;-) On the bright side, you got to be on YOUR C-Dory!

Hope spring comes soon for you!

You just had to remind me didn't you. LOL

I have been on it every day taking things apart so I can buy new parts.

Isn't that the definition of cruising: fixing your boat in exotic locations... and now with a trailerable boat, you can do that right in your driveway! :-)
