Ranger Tugs...

What's a Ranger Tug?

Thanks for asking.  They are great looking recreational boats, not converted working tugs.  Designed to be a comfortable couple's cruising boat...

The Ranger Tug factory folks are very supportive and involved with the boat owners.  It reminds me a lot of the "good ol' days" of American Coach, when a factory support team would come to rallies and fix things on owners' coaches - great PR and it creates strong customer loyalty.

When he first saw us, Jeff Messmer, asked, "Hi, Joan and Jim!  Great to see you two.  Are you ready to move into a Ranger?"  I like that... not high pressure, but enthusiastic and willing to ask for the sale.  No, we're not planning any boat switching - Wild Blue suits us.  But, if we were, Ranger would be at the top of the list.

We took the PA equipment back to the music store, and did some shopping in the area.  Back to Anacortes, where we had authentic Mexican food at the Farmers Market, and listened to a steel drum instrumental group (I like to have some singing to go with my Buffett music, mon).

Later, we walked around to the other side of the marina...

... for wine and cheese, then supper with the Ranger folks.  Their TugNuts group is a friendly bunch.  Jeff announced that they had 89 boats at this gathering, a record for the Ranger group and a record for the Cap Sante Marina.  It was a tight fit in the two event tents.

After supper, they gave away door prizes... over $8,000 in gifts.  One of the bigger give-aways was a Norcold portable freezer... no, we didn't win that.  We did win a $100 Target gift card and some other small stuff.

A fun evening.
