Well, I'm pretty sure Izzy didn't approve.
It was raining pretty good this morning. I looked out the window and saw this on the dock by our boat...
A full grown harbor seal. He was laying out there, getting a fresh water shower. They are prone to hypothermia, so they have to get out of the cold water here on occasion. I've not seen one lounging on the dock before. It was pretty apparent that he wasn't bothered by the boats and the people... well, due to the rain, there weren't many people walking around.
Little Izzy was lounging in the cockpit, and hadn't seen the seal. I brought her in and put her by the window - she went onto "High Alert"... no way would that intruder seal make its way onto our boat!!
Every now and then, I have to remind her that she is a 7 pound cat. Not like the seal would chase her... unless they were in the water. Seals are pretty cumbersome on land; unlike sea lions, they can get their pelvic area under them to move around... they have to wiggle or "do the worm" to move. No, they can't climb onto the dock, either - they have to lunge out of the water to get themselves up on there. I was impressed.
Izzy was more guarded than impressed.

Later in the day, we drove into the music store in Burlington to pick up the PA for tonight's gathering. It is a beast... it filled a dock cart...
I used to have a PA very similar to this one; I've since moved on to a more compact (and back-friendly) Bose system (that is almost 3,000 miles away).
We started setting up the equipment, but didn't have a chance to try it out - there was a seminar going on in the next tent. Hope it all works like it's supposed to. ;-)
