Prep...

Wild Blue comes out of her indoor storage on Monday; today was "clean up and prep" day.  We took the plastic cover off her; this boatyard also works on boats in this building, so they cover stored boats to keep any stray dust off them.  Wild Blue uncovered...

There is a GMC motorhome (made in the 70s) parked next to Wild Blue; it appears that they are doing some mechanical work to it.  A perspective with Wild Blue and the motorhome...

Looking around from our deck, you can see our other boat neighbors...

The goal for today: make sure the boat is clean, batteries connected and charging.  I went to work on the batteries, while Joan went into the cabin to check it out and see what we need to bring onboard.  The new battery charger we installed last year went right to work conditioning the batteries - the meter shows that they are in great shape.

Joan was delighted with how the interior looked: no dust, everything just as we left it.  She is very happy with the indoor storage.  It was rainy when we put the boat away last year, so I was not able to get a coat of wax on her at that time.  I took care of that today.  At home, that is usually a two-day chore... this place is not open on Sunday, so today was it.  It took me the better part of two hours to get a good coat on the hull.

Our friends from home, Herb and Wilma, called - perfect timing: they are in Anacortes for a bit and we were about to break for lunch.  We met them and other Ranger Tug friends, Ray and Jocelyn for lunch and good conversation.  It turned out to be an almost two-hour lunch break - just right.

Afterwards, it was back to the boat.  Joan went back to work inside, while I moved up to the cabintop and then the sides.  By the time I was done, I had worn out another buffer, but Wild Blue is all shiny again.

After the days of driving, we were both wiped.  Fortunately, the hotel has a hot tub... and it was hot: 106º.  Typically, 103º is about right for a hot tub - amazing what a difference 3º makes.  It had been overcast all day, but the sky turned blue when we came back to the hotel; just right for some time in the hot tub.

I think we will sleep good tonight.

:-)
