The light of day...

Before 8:00 this morning, we were in the storage building, ready to pull Wild Blue out... not into the sunshine, 'cause it was overcast, but out of her indoor storage.  Boats in the storage building are tightly packed - no way I could get Big Red in there to move the boat.  The manager came in with a forklift, lifted the tongue on Wild Blue's trailer, and with another worker and me spotting, we slowly moved her outside.  It was snug at first...

Much of the clearance was mere inches.  I breathed a sigh of relief when she was clear.  We hooked her up to the truck and moved her to the boatyard...

Then it was wait-for-the-travel-lift, for Wild Blue's turn.  They put a 36' sailboat into the water, then came for Wild Blue...

I backed the boat under the travel-lift, and they went to work getting her hooked up...

Up, off the trailer...

Into a spot by the building...

Then, they blocked her in preparation for fresh bottom paint...

The bottom paint that is on there looks better than I remembered.  They powerwashed the bottom, then gave it a slight sanding.  Taped off the waterline, then the painter went to work...

With the boat easily accessible, I took the opportunity to put another coat of wax on the hull, just above the waterline.

The engine service work will get done tomorrow.  Along with reblocking and painting the areas under the blocks.  Another coat at the waterline.  By late Tuesday or early Wednesday, it should be dry and ready to go.  Well, that's the plan.  I've learned that boat maintenance doesn't always follow the plan.

We'll see how it goes.

Wild Blue looks like new. It's easy to see that she has been loved and well cared for.

Thanks, Bryan. She is a good boat; 8 years old now, so she has some lines from age and use (just like me), but a classic style (not like me). ;-)
