Spittin' Scootin' Boogie...

No, not a line dance, even though we are back in Texas.  ;-)

With Mother Nature being less than cooperative with all the rain, I was hopeful when I saw the hourly forecasts for this afternoon showing 0% chance of precip.  0%... that seems pretty definitive.

So, after getting Rufus his lunch, we geared up and got the scoots ready to roll...

I am anxious to see how the ride is with the new tires.  It was just starting to rain when we loaded the Vespa into the trailer after getting the tires installed, so I didn't take the time to run it around.

In spite of what the weather weasels said, it is looking pretty gray out there.  Here we are, rolling through town...

We had a tentative plan to roll north, do a loop around Enchanted Rock, and see what the curvy roads here look like.  Well, like this...

Certainly not what we've been used to in the Black Hills - not a lot of curves, and speed limits ranging from 55 to 75 on 2 lane roads.  These would be 45 mph speed limit roads in most other states.

Big surprise: the weasels lied...

With new tires (new motorcycle tires can be a bit slick until you "scrub them" by riding) and wet roads, we decided to turn around; we may try another time.

Dry road behind us...

Back through town and back into the trailer for the bikes.  I think we'll get the car and go find us an authentic German restaurant for a late lunch.

-----------

After the German restaurant (tasty), another sign that we are back in Texas:

The have a nice HEB here in Fredericksburg - bigger than ours at home.  And... cheese curds.  :-)
