OK, that's enough vampire stuff...

Or so I thought.

Out playing on the scoots today.  Sunshine, lovely weather.  No destination, but we wanted to see the beach area on the other side of the river from where we are.  Off we go...

The forest is thick and lush...

We can see the river and the seastacks that were in last night's sunset photos - we're getting close...

Pulling into Rialto Beach...

Some wandering about, sans scoots...

On the path...

A sign on the path, warning you about the dangers of just being in this area...

The "beach" here is way different from where we are staying: black rocks instead of sand...

One way in, the same way out - we headed the scoots back.  Passing by the river...

We passed a small restaurant along the way, and decided to stop there for a late lunch.  Along the way, it seems this is the main commercial enterprise...

Selling bundles of wood.  Every other driveway was offering wood... must be a price war: most were $4, a few were going for volume sales at $3.50.  There was a sign just before this stating:"Burn Ban"... wonder how that affects wood sales?

Tall trees and the start of fall colors...

Another enterprise...

A campground for those traveling by motorcycle.

At the restaurant, we discovered we weren't done with the Twilight theme - there was an autograph booth set up in the parking lot of the adjacent gas station.  Inside the restaurant, this...

At the counter where you order...

Right next to the menus is a sales display for Twilight related pins.  Looking around, I think we were the only ones not into it.  The burgers had Twilight names... well, I think that's what they were.  Typical grill stuff - burgers and hotdogs.  Hard to mess that up.  Chili-cheese fries.  They didn't have a pin for: I "heart" chili-cheese fries.

Back on the scoots, headed for home.  The rolling home.  Getting close again...

As we were loading the scoots back into the trailer, little Izzy wanted to come out.  Joan put her on her leash.  About 4 seconds later, a guy went by on a riding mower... apparently looking to chop up cats, not cut the grass.  Izzy was pounding on the screen door: "Let me in!  Let me in!"  Big brave cat.

The weather weasels were calling for highs in this area in the upper 70s.  I saw 65º on the thermometer when we got home.  Close.

I may take another walk at sunset to check out the light.  Joan found us a casino that may be tomorrow's destination.
