Where did the grass go??

Another day for the record books: one hundred and something... some ridiculously hot temperature.  The only time Izzy could get some "fresh air" (well, hot, fresh air) was around sunrise and after sunset... just too darn hot out there for her little paws on the gravel.

Yeah, gravel.  Nothing grassy around here.  Typical, even in a nice RV park, for Arizona.  Izzy goes out, looks around, walks a bit, shakes her head, and is ready to go back inside.

We did a lot of running/shopping today.  Not running as in: jogging.  Driving with the air conditioner all the way up.  ;-)  This evening, we went to the family favorite pizza place here: Oregano's.  An early treat for Dan's birthday (in two days).

Never been to AZ. I know there's different climates in different regions. I think from the pics I have seen its beautiful. The cactuses, mountains, and vast openness. I know its hot but you ever get the urge to pull off on the road and take the scoot down a trail?

Ah, the right tool for the job. There are road bikes and there are dirt bikes... and the PCXes are not dirt bikes; the tires and suspension are made for the street.

You are right about the different regions: Flagstaff and north to the Grand Canyon are at higher elevations, so it is definitely cooler. But, our sweet kid lives in Phoenix and that is what brings us to Arizona. They like the big city and the desert climate, so here we are!

Oh, and it's a dry heat. Like an oven. ;-) Yesterday was the last day of "monsoon season," their time of humidity. And haboobs (dust storms). Occasional gully-washer rains. (We did see some green stuff in the desert while driving here.)

But, no snow shovels! LOL
