I have mentioned that there are no great motorcycle/scooter roads around here. It isn't a complaint, but a statement of fact. The land is flat, the roads are mostly straight.
Not sure how it happened, but I came across a website titled BestBikingRoads.com. It lists 329 roads that are good for motorcycles in Texas...
Not a single one south of Corpus Christi. Most of them are congregated in the San Antonio to Austin and points west area - that would be the Texas Hill Country. Changes in elevation, curves, fun two lane roads that link up some of the towns in that area. Other than one ride on the west side of Lake Corpus Christi, and a loop that runs from Corpus to Port Aransas, then down Mustang Island and back to Corpus... no other fun motorcycle roads in the southern part of the state.
That's OK - we make up for it with great beaches and lots of water.
