The wind kicked up by early afternoon - we decided to take the scoots across the causeway, even though we knew it would be gusty at the high part of the bridge. Well, we got stopped for a while before we even got off our island: a tug pushing two barges had a bridge opening... he must have called for the opening early, because the bridge was all the way out when we got to it, and the barge was no where in sight. So, we pulled the scoots off the road and sat on the bench to wait...
It took a while for the tug to get there, but we weren’t on a schedule.
The guy in the car at the front of the line waved us on ahead of him when the bridge was closed again; we zipped up the road and turned to head across the causeway. As you could tell from the first photo, I took my PCX instead of the Vespa... I think the Vespa may be a bit more stable in gusty winds, but that may just be because it is heavier.
Lunch was Burger Fi... I only mention that because we didn’t get the chance to go there when Steph was here. And, they have a hot deal on Mondays: a double cheeseburger for $5 (about $3 off the regular price). Steph went to Five Guys when she got home yesterday... we don’t have a Five Guys, but I think I like Burger Fi even better. As a burger kinda guy, they are both tasty!
Back across the causeway after a ride on the island.
I think that might be good for a tattoo: “Live to ride. Ride to eat.” ;-)
