The end of a long streak...

That's right - after 160 days of no precipitation in Phoenix (the last measureable precip was August 22nd last year), .01" of rain fell at the Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport (the official measuring place for Phoenix).  Yes, a whole 1/100th of an inch.  'Cause it's the desert.

Kidding aside, this was the 2nd longest dry spell since they started recording this sort of thing.

I have no smart-ass weather comment to make.  It's really dry here.

One of my music buddies had hand surgery 12 days ago.  He is also a guitar player.  I got to see him and his new scar today, a zigzag slash across his palm.  On the bright side, the cast is off, he is healing nicely, and he is working on getting his fingers moving again.  He played a couple chords on a guitar for me.  I understand the concern and know there is a lot of work ahead for him.

He had a contracture of the hand, meaning he couldn't put his hand palm down flat on a table; it was causing his fingers to "pull in," making many hand movements (including playing guitar) painful or impossible to do.  Surgery is not a cure, but it can relieve symptoms.

This is a big deal for a guitar player.
