Currently in the Phoenix area, gas prices seem to be in the $3.55 to $3.59 range. Joan did a Gas Buddy search and found a Sam's Club close to a Five Guys (lunch plan) that was showing gas for $2.95... 60¢ a gallon less expensive, and not really out of the way.
Yes, the lines were pretty long at Sam's, but we weren't on a schedule. Another nice thing about the van: we fit an any gas station - not the case with the motorhome (especially when we were towing).
I am generally appalled at gas prices in Phoenix. Yes, I think they are artificially inflated. Gas in Tucson is generally 50¢ per gallon less than in Phoenix.
Later, the Roadtrek in front of the house...

Better watch out for the HOA, probably a rule against parking a RV on the street. 😁
I noticed that too last trip. Gas was at least 60 cents per gallon more than just a few miles south heading for Tucson and also north on I-40 toward Kingman. The valley seems to be a hot spot for prices, and I don't understand why. Other than demand..... I planned fuel stops accordingly.
72 hour rule for "loading." I was draining the fresh water tank - better when the RT is level.
Re: prices - they do it because... they can.
