A short post today: I went out to pick up pizza for supper this evening. On the way, it occurred to me that this is the first time I've driven the van after dark. The lights were set to "off," I had to switch them to "auto", which will turn the lights on and off as needed. The info screen on the dash went to dark mode - and still clearly visible, without messing with your night vision.
At the pizza place, I had my pick of parking spots. It's in a plaza that has a day-spa, a dentist office, and other businesses that weren't open on a Sunday evening. Joan had ordered the pizza online, so I didn't have to wait long once I got there. Piping hot and back to the van... where I didn't have to mess with the lights again. And very light traffic heading back home.
Well, except for the car with two young guys dressed in black that had somehow managed to run off the road and crash into an irrigation canal (it was dry). No doubt, those two were having a very bad night, trying to explain to the 3 squad cars how they managed to wind up in the canal. On a straight road with a 45 mph speed limit. Traffic was slow there momentarily while people had to gawk.
The pizza was still hot when I brought it in. And, tasty!
