Do you need another camera?

Is that a trick question?  I have a good selection of cameras, for different uses.  But, Joan asked me that question this morning.  "Tell me more," I said.

"Could you use an Insta360 X4 or Go 3S?"

"My X4 works fine," I said.  But my Go 3 is a previous model and I quit using it because it wouldn't stay charged.  Why do you ask?"

"There is an X4 and a Go 3s in a bundle on Vine.  Could you use the Go 3s?"

Truth be told, it would be a niche camera, for when "smaller is better."

I've discussed Vine here before: it is an Amazon by-invitation-only program... you get free stuff and you agree to give it an honest review.  "Free" may be a misnomer - you don't pay anything for the product, but you are liable for the tax.  Yes, you get a 1099 from Amazon, and the value of the products is considered income to you... just like if you won a prize on Let's Make A Deal.  The Government wants their cut.

There are thousands of items available on Vine.  Occasionally, at the level we are at on Vine, some of those products are great... like one of these Insta360 cameras.  Which, for the record, I have bought a half dozen or so of them over the years.  If I had to pay the normal price for the Go 3s, I probably wouldn't; but to get it for the cost of the income tax on it - well, that's worth it to me.

Generally, when a product like this comes up, it goes fast; there is no guarantee that it will still be in stock until you click "Order" on it.  Many of the items on Vine are from start-up companies who want to get the word out on their products - they give a certain number of these products to Amazon, which will be put in the Vine program.  Ratings, if the product is good, are a way to sell more products.  Insta360 is a well-known, respected camera maker.  They just came out with this particular bundle with the camera (which has been out since last year), so there are no ratings on it.  Yet.

End result: I have as Go 3s (which is an improved, 4K model, compared to the Go 3) on its way.

For the record, she hasn't asked if I need another guitar or motorcycle/scooter.
