Line up for inspection...

So, you're probably picturing Rufus and me standing at attention, waiting for Joan to make sure we pass inspection.  You'd be wrong.  It is that time of year for us when the vehicles all need to be inspected so we can get license tags for the next year.

Fortunately, the mechanic shop just a few blocks off our island is able to do state inspections again, so we don't have to chase all around.  Once the inspection is done, that information goes to the state and we can take care of the rest of the process on-line.  Well, except with the scoots - for some reason the state hasn't figured out what to do with those on-line.  There is a county office in town where we can deal with that.

Since Joan is more patient in dealing with bureaucrats than I am, she went into the office while I went across the street and filled up a couple gas cans for the boat.  Working together to multi-task.  ;-)

Another hot, humid day here in the Tropical Tip - any outdoor endeavor (even just going to the car) turns you into a sweat-hog.  (Welcome Back, Kotter reference)  Rufus thought he wanted to go outside... until I came in after getting our deck sunscreens unstrapped so Joan could roll them down, and he stuck his head out.  That was all it took.  It will have to cool down a bit before he wants to go out again.  Me, too.

Now, the important update: the new Emerald guitar left their facility in Ireland on Monday.  Checking the tracking, it has now departed the Heathrow Transit Hub (Heathrow Airport in London)... next stop: US Customs in the good ol' USA.  On my other Emeralds, there was no tracking once the guitar left Heathrow.  One of them showed up in Texas a day and a half later.  The other took several days to get to the Phoenix area.  Kinda like the first astronauts who flew around the back side of the moon: it may be a while for any further updates... it just "goes dark."
