Happy Birthday, America!

The RV park is thinning out this morning - people heading home from the weekend.  Most of this park seems to be seasonal rentals, with several rows of pull-throughs for us transient folks.  Joan was doing laundry yesterday, and a woman came into the laundromat, just looking around.  She asked Joan, "How long are you here?"

"A week."

The woman scoffed at that.  Joan found out she is at another RV park that is having water and mud issues, and she is looking for another place to be for the summer.  Joan told her, "We travel with our motorhome..."  ;-)

Today will be our last full day here.  When I asked Joan what she wanted to do today, she said, "Well, I've been seeing a place called Sauder's in Seneca Falls - I'd like to go there.  And, maybe another winery?"

"We can make that happen."

I had no idea what Sauder's was... I was told, "They have all kinds of interesting stuff for sale: cheeses, meats, candy, jams - I think it may be an Amish place; they sell gazebos and furniture, too."

We are off to Sauder's.  It is another absolutely gorgeous day here in the Finger Lakes, western Erie Canal, Lake Ontario area - more glorious sunshine, and highs in the 70s.  We enjoyed the drive through the rolling hills and all the lush greenery.  The Maps app took us right to the place...

Yep, they have outdoor furniture...

And, good prices on the tech-wood outdoor furniture... if we had room, I would have taken a couple home.  In the photo above, Joan is sitting in normal size chairs, and those are BIG chairs camera left.

Yes, I tried some out, too...

Comfy!

Inside the store...

The area in the photo above is proof that man does not live by ice cream alone.  Joan was enjoying the massive selection of jams and jellies...

I have no idea what flavor this is...

How many jars of jam can you get out of one average size bear?  Back when we worked at the Tetons and Yellowstone, traffic jams were called "bear jams" by the employees, no matter what kind of animal caused the traffic back-up.

We loaded up our cart with all kinds of cheese, meats, jams, and one of Joan's favorites: apple butter; and some other good stuff, too.  I wasn't thinking of today as a shopping day, but this was a fun stop (we had lunch there, too).

From there, we headed south to Swedish Hill Winery - touted as "the most award winning winery in the area."  (And there are a LOT of wineries here.)

They were not doing tours today, but Joan did a tasting and we picked up several bottles of her favorites...

They invited us to look around the grounds...

Heading south from there, it was clear that we were in Amish country...

The photo above was a laundry line, running from the house to the barn; we saw several of these in this area.

From there, we wanted to see some of Cayuga Lake (another of the Finger Lakes) - our first view...

This lake is at a high level, as well - we didn't see any submerged docks, but some didn't have a lot of room from the rising water.  Pretty lake...

Then, back to the coach.  Izzy got a nice late afternoon walk in.  Considering this is the actual holiday, it was pretty quiet today - every place we stopped, as well as in the campground.  Tomorrow, we will pull up stakes and head to the 1,000 Islands area.
