Things to do...

This is a tourist area - there is no shortage of things to do.  Having researched the area ahead of time, we had some general ideas of what we want to do, but a trip to the nearby Visitors Center gave us some local specifics.

We are very close to the tall bridge that goes over the St. Lawrence River, onto Wellesley Island, and then to Canada (you can see the bridge from our resort).  Leaving the Visitors Center, we decided to take a drive onto Wellesley Island to look around a bit.  The bridge...

You can see the 1000 Islands area from the bridge, but the tall railings are not conducive to getting photos.  I thought there might be some swanky homes on Wellesley Island, but the area we drove through was mostly small(ish) cabins.  Hoping to see the water from this island didn't pan out, since there are these homes all along the water's edge...

We did manage to find a view area...

I'm anxious to get out on a cruise boat and see the area from the water.  We'll work on getting that scheduled.

Back across the bridge...

On to the town of Alexandria Bay - definitely a tourist town, bars, touristy shops, and boat excursions.

At some point, I'm sure we'll get out and walk around there.  We were ready to get some patio time, so after a stop at PriceChopper, we came back to our RV site.  There is a marina co-located with the RV park, including a boat ramp...

Back at the coach, I opened some wine for Joan, she made a drink for me.  We took little Izzy out to get some patio time, too.

After supper, we'll go through the brochures we picked up today and decide what we want to see.

Hi Kent,

I have never tried a dulcimer. Our original plan to head to Maine was via the southern route and through Tennessee. Since we went north to visit my brother-in-law in Iowa, that changed our routing. We may get through Tennessee on the way home.
