Six String Music...

We had considered going out on a lobster boat today.  Mother Nature had other plans, with areas along the coast having dense fog advisories.  Instead, we spent some time with Izzy around the coach this morning - including some music time on the patio...

She is a good audience...

We drove into Ellsworth for lunch and a visit to the L.L. Bean Outlet Store.  This is a true "outlet," having discontinued and returned items.  I was surprised to see a table full of kid-style backpacks... marked down 40%... and each of them had a name embroidered on it!  You can return personalized embroidered items?  I guess L.L. Bean has a very liberal return policy.

As an outdoor gear supplier, I knew I'd be able to find a backpack for biking (no, not one of the personalized kid ones).  And, a pair of "slightly irregular" socks... seems appropriate.

It was sunny in Ellsworth.  We decided to take the Emerald guitar down to Schoodic Penninsula for some new photos.  As we headed that direction, we could see fog over the hills.  And, right down on the water...

No matter; one of us is pretty good with Photoshop, allowing the image to be "brought out" more.  When we first got to Schoodic Point, the fog wasn't too bad...

And, obviously, we weren't the only people there.  Time to pick some angles and make some "worked up" images...

 

While putting the X7 in its gig-bag, a young man (20s is young to me), watching from a distance said to his friend, "That is an amazing guitar!"

I looked his way and asked, "Do you play?"

"Yeah, but I don't have anything like that."

"Well, come on over and take a closer look."  I handed him the guitar.  He played a few things - the kid is good.

"I've never seen a carbon fiber guitar in person before - the design of this is so cool!"

"My compliments to your good taste," I chuckled and told him a few things about the Emerald.

"Thank you for letting me play it," he said.

"My pleasure - you order it direct from Ireland, so it isn't always easy to get your hands on one first; now you'll know what you expect when you order yours."  ;-)

They continued their hike out onto the rocks, and we packed up and headed for the car.  We decided to try another location, a bit more rugged...

 

Well, most everything along this coast is rugged... as my friend Travis called it: iron bound.

My thanks to my lovely wife for shooting these - not an easy subject, I'm sure.  But I do appreciate the results.
