Sunset Cruise...

Still from day one, with weather so beautiful we wanted to take in the sunset from the water.

We think this tug and barge are part of a pipeline operation happening nearby.  For some perspective, that is a full-size semi tractor/trailer sitting on the barge...

A shrimper heading out to the Gulf...

A pelican meeting, Daymark 27 Chapter..

More to take in here than just the sunet.

We did see several dolphins this trip, but they were heading east at a pretty good clip, and we were wanting to set ourselves up for looking west (sunset)...

This was coming down the ship channel at us...

From this perspective, it looked like something from Mad Max or Waterworld.

The last bit of sun...

Then, the glowing sky from the west...

Pretty quiet out on the water as the sun disappears.  With nav lights on, we headed for home.

Looking all the way down the first canal, we had a better view of that ocean tug/barge heading out to open water...

And, the last bit of light in the sky as we headed towards our dock...

It helps you can set the ISO to 1600.

Tied off to our dock, Joan took our stuff in to the house while I cleaned up the boat.  It has been a long wait to get the boat back in the water, and this was a fine way to start "our season."
