Mooned...

Nothing to do with sticking my ass out the car window.  Tonight and tomorrow night will be some good viewing of the November full moon.  Actual peak time will be around 12:23am  Central Daylight Time (really early) Saturday (you set your clocks back tomorrow night).

This month's full moon is known as the Beaver Full Moon; so named by some Native American tribes as the time to set beaver traps before the swamps froze to insure a supply of warm winter furs.

This is also close to a Super Moon.  This full Moon is fairly close to the Moon’s perigee—which is the Moon’s closest point to Earth in its monthly orbit.  It is within one day and 19 hours of perigee... so: close, but not quite a Super Moon.  (To be a Super Moon, it has to be within 90% of the closest approach to the Earth at the point of being a full moon.)

Yeah, probably more than you wanted to know... so, just step outside and see how pretty it is if you have a clear sky in your location.
