Excessive Heat Warning...

Oh, he's complaining about the heat again.  In Arizona.  What'd ya expect?  It's the desert!

Glad you got that out of your system.  ;-)  Actually, it's the opposite of that.  Sorta.  Today was the first day since before we left to go to the Grand Canyon that there isn't an Excessive Heat Warning.  Don't get me wrong - today was the 17th day in a row that the high temperature for the day broke a record.  106º for a high today (previous record was 105º, set in 1991).  But - no Excessive Heat Warning today... I guess 106º must be the "cut off" for that warning?  The average high temp for this time of year is 92º.  More triple digit highs ahead, but dropping a degree or two each day... and a forecast high of 98º by next Tuesday.  Yeah, that is mostly psychological, but we're looking forward to it.

On the bright side, it was 72º out when we got up this morning - and it was lovely!  Murphy had a great time outside...

He was in Joan's metal sculpture garden.

A nice start to the day for all of us.

Later, we went out for lunch and did some shopping.  It was plenty warm out, but it didn't feel like we were melting as we went from the air conditioned car to the air conditioned restaurant.

Speaking of shopping, here's a plus to being in the big city: something we ordered from Amazon last night was delivered to our house shortly after 7:00 this morning.
