A hot time...

In the old town, tonight?  If you said, "An American popular song, copyrighted and perhaps composed in 1896 by Theodore August Metz with lyrics by Joe Hayden," you get 150 bonus points and are older than dirt.

Today was supposed to be "cooler" than yesterday... 91º instead of 94º.  Joan stayed home in air conditioned comfort, I put some miles on the CTX.  I was looking for some fun riding, but also wanting to do some "recon" with the road construction situation.

Highway 79 south to Hwy 40 again, then west to Playhouse Road - some photos...

Turning onto Playhouse Rd...

 And, Iron Mountain Road...

Through Keystone, out Hwy 40 to S Rockerville.  A couple miles into that road and I ran into more chip-seal...

I topped off gas (73.5 mpg) and took Hwy16 to the turn for Hart Ranch.  Spring Creek Road now has some sort of gooey oil over the top of the chip-seal.  No photos of it, but it isn't pretty.  For sure, we will be changing our route in and out of Hart Ranch for a while.
