Happy Birthday...

Not the song for the guitar class, but we did sing Happy Birthday to Steph this evening... yep, it's her birthday.  We went out for a fine Mexican meal, then back to their house for gift and card opening and cake and ice cream.

She asked, "Do you feel like you can have a kid this old?"

"Yep.  Most days."  ;-)  Truth be told, the years have flown by.

Tonight, while opening gifts...

No, none of the gifts was another cat.  Although Dan did get her an autographed book from the Pete the Cat series.  Notice a theme?

Before getting together with Steph and Dan, Joan and I made a trip across town, to a Guitar Center we haven't been in before.  In Scottsdale.  It felt quite a bit more upscale than the other Phoenix area Guitar Centers we've been in.  Yes, I am still looking around for a nylon string guitar that might be interesting.  This GC had a couple Silent Guitars; yes, that is what they are called, and no, they aren't completely silent... they do have a very nice pickup system that sounds great when plugged in and is very quiet when not plugged in.  You can enjoy it with headphones, too.  It is a very different guitar from anything I currently have: no real "body" on the guitar, just an outline in wood and the pickup system at the bottom of the neck...

Yep.  That's different.
