Reflecting...

I got word yesterday from two of my cousins that my cousin Dick had passed.  Another punch in the heart in this year that seems to be full of them.  I spoke with his brother, Gary, for a while on the phone... we reminisced, talked about our families, and caught up.

I am the youngest of that generation of cousins.  "Gary and Dick" was said together like my sisters, "Connie and Joan."  Being a decade younger, I missed out on a lot of the "family stuff."

Gary and Dick are good people.  When my Mother was in the hospital after the stroke took her life, Gary, Dick, and their wives were there for us.  They made a very tough situation more bearable.

My heart goes out to Louise and all those whose lives Dick touched.
