The fire in the Black Hills National Forest that I mentioned yesterday is still happening. It is located south of Sundance, Wyoming, on the west side of the Black Hills.
The fire has grown to 6,500 acres and is 0% contained. There is a specialized fire-fighting contingent from the Rocky Mountain Region coming in tomorrow to help fight the fire. The smoke in the air was significantly less here at Hart Ranch (and in the southern Hills on my motorcycle ride this morning); areas in the northern Black Hills suffered more from smoke and falling ash. Some homeowners in the vicinity of the path of the fire have been evacuated.
Unfortunately, the weather is not cooperating with the fire-fighting effort, with dry conditions and winds over 20 mph in that area.
