A Test Drive...

No, we're not getting any different vehicles.  We had to move to a different site today - they are shutting off the water in the section we were in.  Since we had to move the coach anyway, we took it into Rapid City for an oil change.  Yes, one of the Super Lube places is open on Sundays.

Before leaving with the coach, we moved the rest of our stuff to a site about a block away; it all went fast and easy.  This way, when we get back with the motorhome, we can just back into the site and get it set up for the next three nights.

Knowing that the lube place opens at 10:00 (and they don't take appointments), we planned to be there 10 minutes early.  The way the place is laid out, we have to pull in and back out the same way... it becomes an issue if there are cars lined up behind you.  That plan didn't play out when we pulled into their lot and saw that a pickup truck was already waiting at their door.  That guy was nice enough to pull forward more so we could get most of the motorhome off the street.

They didn't open one minute early - right at 10:00 they opened, and there were already two more cars behind us.  It took a half hour to get the pickup done because the assistant manager was the only one there.  One other employee did show up about 10 minutes late.  No problem for us, since we had our stuff already moved to the new site.  Plus, we could wait in the comfort of our motorhome...

Rufus thought the sounds coming from the shop had something to do with killing cats...

But, he knew he was safe with his Mom and Dad.

We got out of there around 11:00.  I had put bleach in the fresh water tank to sanitize it, and the drive into Rapid City provided the sloshing to move it all around the tank.  Plus, after sitting for nearly 3 months, it was a good "test drive" to make sure everything was working like it is supposed to.

When Wednesday rolls around, we will be heading out.

This new site that we are on faces the opposite direction.  The sites here are all pretty uniform, so the direction you face for sun and wind makes for a different experience.  Joan has her preference, I was just happy to not be by the loud people.  ;-)

Rufus does look concerned.

Alice is en route today back from Lynnwood, WA after a busy five days of low flutes workshops (bass and contra bass). Duke will be SO happy to have mommy home again. When she called the other might and he heard her voice on speaker, he jumped right up onto my chest and laid on top of my phone, kneading up a storm. The boy absolutely lives for his mommy. I'm an OK food delivery unit in a pinch, but it is all about Alice. He isn't wrong.....

Hi Earl. I missed your comment until just now. "Food delivery unit" - thanks for the morning chuckle. With our first cat (Smoke) decades ago, I was known as "the feed-me guy." Smoke was our daughter's cat until Steph went off to college... then, Smoke started traveling with us in that first motorhome, and quickly became OUR cat. That's when I made that transition to being "a cat guy."

Give our regards to Alice and the furry ones.
