If you said, "The Impressions, 1965, lyrics by Curtis Mayfield," you'd be pretty darn close. It's a great, soulful, gospel song, but the line is: "there's a train a comin'." For those in the Black Hills: it is 80º at 5:30 am; with a hot wind. It will get to 87º before the wind changes to north, ramps up, the temperatures drop, and the rain starts. With the rapid change, thunderstorms are likely. Friday's high may make it up to 59º. Yep, that's a change.
"What are you doing up at 5:30, Jim?" you ask. I have no idea, but I'll probably need a nap this afternoon. We will hit the road in less than two weeks, and I guess my mind is ramping up (also) to rolling mode.
