Rolling...

My goal was to be heading out by 8:00 am; we pulled out of our site at Hart Ranch at 7:50.  The sprinkles were just starting when we hooked the cargo trailer to the coach.  Just before the Interstate, we pulled into Mickey D's - Joan went through the drive-thru while I found a place to put the coach/trailer.  It was starting to rain pretty good at this point...

Rufus pretended to be asleep as we rolled onto the Interstate...

A chilly start to the day to go along with the rain...

Yep, 46º, with a gusty wind out of the NNW.  Our intended stop for the night is at the far end of the state, just into the exotic land of Eye-Oh-Wha... I-90 all the way across...

East of the Black Hills, it is pretty much prarie, until you get to the Missouri River; then a few rolling hills and back to mostly flat farmland...

The Rest Areas are timed for approximately one per hour as we rolled east.  Besides the potty break, it gives me a chance to do a walk-around and check inside the cargo trailer; all good...

We are down for the night in a casino RV park.  The sites are gravel with a narrow strip of grass between them.  Rufus stuck his head out to look at the grass, but the furry boy does not like the gusty wind.

We may swing by the casino this evening.  Joan said something about "winning to pay for our stay here."  That has happened in the past.  Or, we could lose the nest egg - 30 bonus points if you said, "A line from the movie Lost In America, with Albert Brooks."  I have mentioned it before, but that is pretty obscure.

--------

After being down for a couple hours, Rufus decided he wanted to walk around a bit - stepping outside the door...

Still a bit breezy, but nothing a big tough furry boy can't handle.  I never know how far he is going to walk - this time, he took off like he was late for an appointment, walking to the far end of the park.  We are adjacent to the driving range and golf course that is part of this resort...

There is a tall fence with a net to keep RVs from getting damage from any wayward slices.  Rufus walked just past that fence, and said...

"OMG, Dad - look at all this grass!  Can I roll in it?  Can I?"

I've never seen a golf course that allows pets on their manicured fairways, so I gently steered him back to the roads in the RV park.  Not a lot of people here; not in the RV park, nor in the casino when I went in to register...

He was a very happy boy, getting to walk all around, after being in the motorhome all day...

If I had known he was going to walk that far, I would have put on more comfortable shoes and a jacket.

He's a good boy.  :-)
