A Change a Comin'...

The weasels are calling for a high of 100º today.  A dry heat?  Yeah, but that's still damn hot.  By Monday evening, the low is forecast to be 29º with a chance of snow (accumulations in the higher elevations); a high on Tuesday of 46º.  And that's why we bring a variety of clothing with us when coming to the Black Hills.

Air conditioning during the day, heat at night.  This is not a good time to be tent camping in the Black Hills.  Well, for me, there isn't any time for tent camping that would be "good."  ;-)

Accurate?  Well, it got to 101º today.  Yep, it has been a hot summer in the Black Hills.  The resort is packed - lots of families.  When I rode my bike (bicycle) this morning, there were a plenty of sites with groups of people, assume family members... not much in the way of any distancing, though.  Only a few empty sites as I rode around, and I assume they will be occupied by now.  Even The Meadows (what I consider the overflow area) was almost full.

Once beyond Labor Day it will be the time of... newlyweds, nearly-deads, and over-feds.  People on their honeymoon, retired people, and the bus tours.  Well, that has been what we have seen in the past - who knows how it will play out this year?

We have heard that bookings in the resort are up for September.
