Do you feel lucky, punk?

If you said, "Dirty Harry, a movie from 1971 starring Clint Eastwood," you get 100 bonus points.  If you said, "Well, the line is actually: 'You've got to ask yourself one question. Do I feel lucky?  Well, do ya, punk?'," you get 500 bonus points.

No, I was not carrying a .44 Magnum... today is Friday the 13th.  Neither of us is particularly superstitious, but we were both ready for a scooter ride.  And, as luck would have it, the weather was perfect!  Comfortably cool, in the low to mid-70s, dry, not much wind, and beautiful sunshine.

I got the scoots ready this morning...

Over our time here, I have posted a lot of "road photos"... when we are back in the Tropical Tip, where the sand is warm, the water salty, the dolphins playful, and the roads are flat and straight, looking at these road photos will remind me of the great riding here...

Joan wanted to ride the Wildlife Loop in Custer State Park "one more time"; I just want to ride, and anything else is a bonus.

We turned off the main road through the park and onto the Wildlife Loop...

We were over half way through the loop and hadn't seen any animals.  Then...

Cars ahead parked on the road = wildlife.

So much for those signs that tell you to stay in your vehicle.  ;-)  Nowhere to get protection on a scooter...

Joan stopped to take a selfie...

Making our way past the buffalo (and a photo of me)...

Moving on, and another herd ahead...

And, begging burros...

And, more buffalo...

Once off the Wildlife Loop, we stopped for a picnic lunch...

Joan packed us the picnic lunch - a nice change.  Getting ready to roll again, after lunch...

Riding back through the park, and once again to Iron Mountain Road...

Almost no traffic, we had the road pretty much to ourselves.  Cruising through one of the splits...

Back to 2-lane...

Riding through Keystone, we stopped for some ice cream...

Here, it is the Dairy Queen; at home, it is a "Texas Stop Sign."  ;-)  (That's from the DQ TV ads.)

I put the camera away for the rest of the ride home; more fun curves and no traffic.  We stopped to gas up: 132 mpg for Joan on the PCX; 99.55 mpg for me on the Vespa.  Makes me smile.  And, with tourist season winding down, the price had come down.  Makes me smile even more.

Some leash time for Rufus when we got home.  He is OK with the site we are in, but I think he misses "the wide open spaces" of the nearly empty section where we were.  Still, he walks good on the leash and is happy to be outside.  The 3 of us sat on the patio until it was his supper time.

Another fine day in the Black Hills.
