Looks like winter...

But, it's not.  Overcast today - if you are looking out the window, it looks like it should be cold out there.  The reality is: cooler than normal, with the high today around 67º, but the cold north wind has eased off and gone easterly.  It was decent enough out there for me to get an e-bike ride in this morning.  And discussion of a scooter ride this afternoon.

In the meantime, Joan is preparing for the next round of crappy weather, which is supposed to roll in tonight - she is making a beef gnocchi soup.  Which we will be enjoying this evening.  This next front is mostly wet rather than cold and windy.

So, with a couple days of wet weather ahead, it is pretty important that we get a scooter ride in today.  I put some leather conditioner on my scooter seat and tried out Joan's solution to the gimballed cup-holder I have on my scoot; she cut a coozie so the Aquaflask sticks out the bottom of it...

The cup-holder isn't very deep, so typical drink conveyances we use are too tall for it.  This works, as long as I don't fill the vacuum bottle up more than half.  It's a work in progress.

Gearing up to go for a ride...

We went out and about, no particular destination.  Looping around, the discussion of lunch came up - part of me credo: Live to Ride, Ride to Eat.  A couple suggestions went back and forth, when I suggested some cheese curds,,, which means Padre Island Brewing Co.  Agreed.  Back into town, we rode across the causeway and made our way up the island.  Pulling into the parking lot, we once again saw a coupe small Vespas...

We have seen these two scoots a couple times before, always at a restaurant.  The riders must follow the same credo as us.  The scoots are small enough that we surmise they are simply island transportation, not speed capable of taking across the causeway.

Lunch was good, the cheese curds were tasty.  After 3:00, time to head for home.  Not a bad way to spend a gray ol' day.
