And, they're off...

Horse races?  No.  Elon launched another rocket?  Not yet.  It's Friday: the weekend crowd has rolled in and the golf carts are out and rolling.  Instead of the geezers who drive around during happy hour and stop at each others' houses during the winter months, these are what look like young teens who drive all around the island in golf carts with their stereos blasting.

I understand that kids want to be out driving around - we did plenty of that when I was a teenager.  Heck, I still enjoy cruising around... well, mostly on my motorcycle.  But, these are Valley people - they drive here from the Valley 50 to 80 miles or more away... and then a bunch of them spend their time driving around in golf carts.  We have indoor and outdoor pools, hot tubs, a golf course, a billiards room, exercise rooms, tennis and pickleball courts, basketball court, shuffleboard courts, mini-golf...  The pools get plenty of use during the summer, but the golf carts (not for playing golf) seem to be a big attraction for the summer people.  I don't get that attraction.  There are signs posted (in English and Spanish) that state you have to be a licensed driver to drive a golf cart... there is no doubt that some of these kids driving carts are not old enough to have a drivers license.

But, inside, with the a/c going and the TV on, we don't hear all that Friday and Saturday evening activity.

We are down to two weeks for our summer departure.
