Here it comes...

Joan nudged me at 6:30 this morning.  We made arrangements for a guy to paint the trim on our house and he is supposed to start this morning; we are supplying the paint and supplies, he will do the labor.  Starting my morning routine, there was a weather alert on TV: a thunderstorm will be rolling through our area, but the big thing is the strong winds that are happening - winds of 70 mph are blowing about 20 miles from us, heading our way.  A fast moving storm, as well.

Looking outside right now...

Followed shortly by strong wind.  I contacted the handyman, who said it is raining where he is - he asked if he can start tomorrow.  Well, not really asked, so much as said, "See you tomorrow."

And here comes the horizontal blowing rain.

This was not forecast when we went to bed last night.

Joan put down the electric hurricane shutter (electric) over the glass door.  Wind is gusting above 50 mph.  We're hearing "thumps and bumps" as what I assume are palm tree branches hitting the side of the house, and the cover over our patio furniture (weighted down with a couple bricks) billowing and lifting the chairs.  So, that's fun.

 --------

The storm passes as forecast.  The sun reappeared, the handyman did not.  We spent most of the afternoon sorting through and pricing stuff for the "Fiesta Day" sale on Saturday.  If you need a motorcycle jacket or some GoPro action cameras and stuff or a bunch of other fun stuff, come see us at the Event Center here.  Bring cash.  ;-)
